摘要：We show that the group of orientation-preserving quasi-isometries of the real line is a left-orderable, non-simple group, but cannot act effectively on the real line by homeomorphisms. If time permits, we will discuss some attempts to the case of R^2. This is a joint work with Yanxin Zhao.
